John Arthur Harter

John Arthur Harter, 78, of Newark, passed away on January 10, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Newark, Ohio on October 3, 1946 to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Burris) Harter. Prior to retirement, John worked at Holophane for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycling and loved spending time with his wife, family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Christina K. (Stevens) Harter, whom he married September 4, 1964; son, John A. (Mary) Harter, Jr.; grandchildren, John Christopher (Amy) Harter and Tyler William (Lanie) Harter; and great grandchildren, Lily Marie Harter, Hunter William Harter, Willa Mae Harter, Jaxson Dean Harter and Jamison Arthur Harter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John to Hospice of Central Ohio.
