A funeral service celebrating the life of John Jack Mossman, age 74, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Church officiating. Burial will follow at Fredonia Cemetery.Jack was born in Newark, Ohio on September 1, 1940 to the late John J. and Jessie Mossman. He passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital.Prior to retirement, he was a carpenter with Carpenters Local 200 for over 40 years. He enjoyed building homes, watching NASCAR and was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his five children, Robert Bobby (Diana) Mossman of Toboso, Malynda Mindy Evans of Utica, Jackie R. (Tom Hayes) Powell of Newark and John E. (Nickie) Mossman II of Perry County, John Russell Mossman of Newark; fourteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his loving dog, Bear; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra (Rose) Mossman in 2014; son, Billy Mossman in 1983; and four sisters, Ruth, Shirley, Jeanette and Tootie.Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Mossman family.
