Funeral Services celebrating the life the John Thomas "Tom" Morgan, Sr., 81, of Somerset, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023, with Pastor Victoria Burgoon officiating, in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral Home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville, with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Jacksontown. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John passed away early Saturday morning, May 6, 2023 in Lancaster following a long illness. He was born June 26, 1941, in Columbus, the son of the late John Morris and Minnie Ethel (Kay) Morgan. He was a diesel mechanic at the Buckeye Lake Truck Stop for 30 years. He was a long-time member and “Golden Eagle” at the Buckeye Lake Eagles. He loved to hunt especially deer.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Margaret Morgan, whom he married on July 23,1961; his sons John Thomas (Debbie) Morgan Jr of Millersport, and David (Valerie) Morgan of Buckeye Lake; his daughter Mary (John) Dalton of Thornville; his 15 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren; along with his surviving sister Carol (Bill) Wise and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers and three sisters.
