John W. Bowermaster, Sr.

John W. Bowermaster, Sr., age 81, of Baltimore, OH passed away on July 11, 2016.John was born on March 13, 1935 to the late Wilbur R. and Armetha (Runnels) Bowermaster at Bloomingburg, OH. He graduated from Fairborn High School in 1953, attended the University of Dayton. John served in the United States Navy and began his working career at Gentile Air Force Base, and then transferred to the Newark Air Force Base. He also served as a civilian at the Defense Attache Office in South Viet Nam. John retired in 1988.He is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Larry) Williams of Heath, OH and Cathy (Ken) Iden of St. Louisville, OH and a son, John W. Bowermaster (Gayla) also of St. Louisville; step children Debbie (Steve) Riordan, Mark Durant; several grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother Jack Bowermaster of Buckeye Lake, OH and special friend, Dorothy Sawyer of Baltimore.Memorial visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and service following at 6:00 p.m. will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Rev. Rebeka Maples, formerly of the Thurston United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will followat Kirkersville Cemetery,with full military honors by the Licking Co. Veterans Alliance, on Saturday morning, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. Honoring Johns wishes cremation has taken place.Memorial contributions made be made to the building fund at the Thurston United Methodist Church.HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, Kirkersville, is honored to care for John and his family.
