John Joseph Zaleusky, 69, of Granville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 16, 1943 in Columbus, the son of the late Anthony Zaleusky and Hilda Irene (Bushbaum) Zaleusky of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.John, who was affectionately known by his friends as Zeke or Polack served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era from 1963-1967. He was a member of the first graduating class from Bishop Hartley H.S. in 1961. He was employed by Harrop Industries as a design engineer for over 20 years, also by Jeffrey Manufacturing/Jeffrey Mining Machinery Company in Columbus and Spartanburg SC. Zeke loved OSU football and was a NASCAR enthusiast. He was a Roman Catholic by faith.He is survived by his loving family: his wife Carolyn (Wickliff) Zaleusky, daughter Beverly Ann (David) Oddi of Galloway, granddaughter Megan Oddi, Stepchildren Linda (Daniel) Starsia of Columbus, Daniel (Celina) Oswald of Senecaville, Dwayne (Elizabeth) Oswald of Granville, Step-grandchildren Michael, Jennifer, Morgan, Abby, Natalie and William Oswald, sisters Donna (James) Frey of Columbus and Rose Mary (Ralph) Billiter of Carroll, a niece, nephews and many friends.Friends may call on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at The Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, 285 East Main St. (US RT 40) in Kirkersville, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 with Rev Fr. Leo Connolly as celebrant.
