Joe was born May 7, 1952 in Newark, Ohio to the late Clarence T. “Ted” and Cleo J. (Rector) Bodle.  He passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the co-owner and operator of B&B Construction for many years. He was a talented and skilled craftsman who built and transformed many local buildings and homes, including those of his family.

Joe enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes. He loved to spend the holidays with family and go fishing at Lake Erie with friends.

He was a truly wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He devoted himself to his family whether attending sports games, boy scout events, or dance recitals and, more recently, to spending time with his loving grandson Jaxon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia A. (Hurd) Bodle, whom he married August 20, 1977; and by two sons, Seth (Kellie) Bodle of Blacklick and Mathew Bodle (Heather Everett) of Newark; daughter, Sarah Bodle of Newark; grandson, Jaxon Bodle; sisters, Sherylyn S. Davis (Richard) of Newark, Linda M. Bodle of Georgia, and Patricia L. (Ronald) Babcock of Newark; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle A. Bodle; and a brother, Danl L. Bodle.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
