A funeral mass celebrating the life of Joseph T. Foresta, age 89, of Heath, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, in the Chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery, Pataskala, with Father Bill Hritsko officiating. Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Garden where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, at the Hebron home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 108 N 7 th Street in Hebron.
Joseph was born November 9, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Salvatore and Antonina (Caito) Foresta. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital following a brief illness. Joseph attended St. Leo School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He worked for many years as a driver and salesman for Mac Distributing and was a former owner of M & J Carryout on the Hilltop. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
A faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Buckeye Lake, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving family, a son, Joseph A. Foresta of Heath; a daughter, Paula L. (Charles) Kellar of Hebron; grandchildren, Jay Foresta, Katie Whitlatch and Jamie, Lynne and Frank Foresta; great-grandchildren, Faith, Grace and Hope Whitlatch, Lana Foresta, and Lillian and Madison Foresta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ramona M. Foresta, on August 13, 2016; a daughter, Toni; and a brother, Vincent.
