Joseph "Joe" H. Gochenouer

  A funeral service celebrating the life of Joseph H. “Joe” Gochenouer, 73, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating.  Military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance. Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Joe was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 5, 1946 to the late Carl Raymond and Kathryn Irene (Theaumont) Gochenouer.  He passed away at his residence on November 8, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a mechanic for many years.  Joe enjoyed watching NASCAR, tinkering in his garage and barn, along with cooking.  Most important in his life was the time he spent with his loving family. Survivors include his daughters, Rocksann (Don) Rowland, Joanne (Jim) Brown, Loretta (Brian) Morczek, Cat (John) Gifford, and Patty (Brian) Christian; brothers and sisters, Penny, Carol, Chris, Debbie, Jim, Chuck and Charlene; significant other, Joyce Skeens and her daughter, Jenny; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Theresa (Boothe) Gochenouer; daughters, Kim Gochenouer and Tina Morczek; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joe to Hospice of Central Ohio or the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Joe and his family.
