Joseph Anthony Trapp, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Trapp, Sr. Joseph passed away at Mount Carmel East Medical Center on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on Monday, November 4, 1940, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Sylvester and Helen Rose (Everman) Trapp.

Joseph was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his profession as a wool packer for over 30 years at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Newark, Ohio. He also served as a volunteer firefighter.

Joseph's love for the land and machinery was evident in his active involvement with the Fairfield County Tractor Club and the Licking County Tractor Club. His passion for gardening and farming was well-known.

Joseph is survived by his loving sons, Joseph (Vicki) Trapp Jr. and Mark Trapp; grandsons, Jeremy and Jason Trapp; and brothers, John, William, Anthony, and Francis Trapp.

Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Monday, February 10, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E Main St. in Kirkersville. The family will also receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday, February 11, at the funeral home where a funeral service will follow at 11:00am with Father Leo Connolly officiating. Burial will take place in Kirkersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joseph's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
