Joseph Lee Varney, Sr.

Joseph Lee Varney, Sr., age 62, of Reynoldsburg, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. Joe was born August 5, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Lee Varney and the late Wanda Sue (Harris) Moore.

Joseph was a 1977 graduate of North Gallia High School. He was a sign electrician for Vacuform in Columbus for many years. Joe enjoyed working on cars, especially Mustangs. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene Kay (Casey) Varney, whom he married June 25, 1977; daughter, Angela Dawn (Sherman) Muncy of Pataskala; son, Joseph Lee (Kimberly) Varney, Jr. of Lucasville; grandchildren, J.T. Varney, David Williams, Emma Varney, Eric Williams, Nicole Breech and Bree Muncy; brothers, Dennis (Wilma) Varney of Piketon and Brian (Lisa) Varney of Bremen; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Varney.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
