Joshua Lee Lovejoy

A funeral service celebrating the life of Joshua Lee Lovejoy, age 38, of Newark, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, at the Jacksontown United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Beyer and Pastor Carol Kirk officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the 12 p.m. service time at the church, 9350 Jacksontown Road in Jacksontown. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Lutheran Cemetery.

Joshua was born August 27, 1981 in Newark, Ohio. He passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center from injuries he sustained in an accident. Josh was an organ and tissue donor and helped save lives by his donation.

Josh was a 2000 graduate of Lakewood School and received an associate’s degree from Columbus State Community College in 2002. He was mechanic with C. Bee Tech Services Inc. He loved working on motorcycles with his dad, grandpa, and sons, Logan and Ryder. He also enjoyed picking on the guitar, remote controlled cars, trucks and boats, and working with wood.

He is survived by four children, Logan Tyler Lovejoy, Layne Brooke Lovejoy, Ryder Ellis Lovejoy and Brinlea Kasandra Humphrey; father, Paul Alan Lovejoy; mother and step-father, Jana L. (Lowery) and Dwayne Lee; brother, Eric Lee; paternal grandmother, Bonnie Lovejoy; maternal grandfather, Allen Lowery; maternal grandparents, Ray and Janet Canter; aunts and uncles, John Lovejoy, Jean (Mike) Ball, William Lowery, Lesia (Dean) Arrnett, Victor (Sherry) Canter, Lori (Kyle) Broceus, Raylene Canter and Raymond Canter II; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Glenn Lovejoy.
