Joyce Iva Cochran, 82, of Thornville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home. She was born April 23, 1940, in Mingo Junction, OH to the late Elmer and Osciola (Loyer) McCune. Joyce retired from Lucent after more than 30 years with the company. Outside of work her greatest pleasure in life was to care for and love her family and friends. She never missed a special moment, race, or event. She was an avid cheesecake and coffee connoisseur with a true love of life and creating memories with those close to her. She is survived by her two sons, Ron (Suzanne) Cochran and Tom Cochran; grandchildren, Emily (Adam) Cacchione, Derek (Mara) Yoesting, Zach Yoesting, and Lucas Yoesting; great grandchildren, Cade, Peyton, Sawyer, and Briggs; siblings, Jean Mortimer, Mack McCune, Martha Petty, and Judy Cline; brother-in-law, Gilbert Acord; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward Cochran; siblings, Grace Acord, Andrew “Butch” McCune, and Dickie McCune; and half-brother, Elwood Rine. Joyce and family were blessed for the excellent care provided by Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to them in Joyce’s honor. Visitation will be Saturday, July 16 from 3-5pm at the Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home where the funeral service will be Sunday, July 17 at 10:00am with Chaplain Tanner Fixari officiating.
