Juanita Marlene Whisner Keener

A memorial visitation for Juanita Marlene Whisner Keener, age 68, of Utica, will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Juanita was born December 20, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to the late Roy Quay Richards and Evelyn (Lybarger) Richards Bonham. She passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Juanita was a graduate of Newark High School and was a homemaker. She was formerly employed as a teacher’s assistant at Cherry Valley Elementary School and at one time had worked at Heath Nursing Care Center. She was a member of the Licking Valley Church of Christ and the Moose and AmVets in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by her significant other, Ronald E. Whisner, Sr. of Utica; son, Ronald E. Whisner, Jr. (Loretta Hilchey) of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; grandchildren, Ronnie M. Whisner, Sage B. Whisner, Seth M. Whisner, Gavin J. Whisner and Miranda L. (Chris) Welch; a sister, Mary Ellen Richards (Bill Merwin); a brother, David (Jane) Richards of Newark; nephews, Eric Richards and Jay Evans; a niece, Michelle Richards; and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie (Whisner) Cline.
