A funeral service celebrating the life of Judith Ann Judy Day, age 77, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark and also from 12-1 p.m. on Monday prior to the service. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens. Judy was born November 1, 1941 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Opal Mae (Burris) Kimble. She passed away on Friday, January 18, 2018 at her home. Judy was a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School and was a member of the First Church of God in Mount Vernon. Judy was employed with North Fork Local Schools as a bus driver for eight years and had also been a cook at Peter Pan Daycare and the First Church of God Daycare. She was a wonderful cook and was best known by many for her delicious cooking and baking, especially at church functions and for large groups. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Philip L. Day, whom she married June 23, 1961; four children, Brian P. (Barbara L.) Day of Mount Vernon, Mark A. (Ellen G.) Day of Pickerington, Michele L. Bradford of Newark and her fianc, Bob DeVinney of Mount Vernon and Darryl A. (Eva M.) Day of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Brandon L. Day, Benjamin P. Day, Michael A. Day, Morgan A. Day, Marshall A. Day, Cynthia N. Bradford, Cassie M. Bradford and Miriam A. Day; great-grandchildren, Zoey L. Day, Haze J.D. Day and Jax J.J. Day; brothers-in-law, David L. (Terri) Day of South Bloomfield and Paul J. (Joyce) Day of Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Judy Lewis of Springfield and Sharon (James) Harwood of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia K. Kimble.
