Judy A. Fry

A funeral service celebrating the life of Judy A. Fry, age 78, of Sycamore, Ohio, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Chelsea Schweizer officiating. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Judy was born January 7, 1946 in Newark, Ohio. She passed away on January 17, 2024 at Ohio Health Marion General Hospital.

Judy was a homemaker and was a fabulous cook. She was especially known for her macaroni salad, beef and noodles, ham salad, and stuffed peppers. A very family-oriented person, Judy enjoyed family holidays, cookouts, going out to eat, camping and family reunions.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Raymond R. Fry, whom she married August 16, 1969; two daughters, Dianne Haygood of Sycamore and Teresa (Scott) Davidson of Nevada; grandchildren, Ryan Tyler Friel (fiancée, Dani Kleopfer), Shawn Ryan Friel, Tyler Shay Friel, Dillon Davidson, and Trevor Davidson; honorary grandson, Levi Dietz; great-grandchildren, Abbagail Friel, Averie Kleopfer, Lilly Reza, and Harley Howell; siblings, Naomi Lanning, James White, Cookie Ellis, Mike Darkes, Charles Schimpf, and Ramona Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Lester Earl  & Betty Schimpf; mother, Elsie Florence (Fulton) White; son, Christopher Allen Lancaster; grandson, Jonathan Michael Cash; and siblings, Gene Schimpf, Ernest White, Sherry Padar, Dixie Shaw, and Skip Darkes.
