Julia Ann Smart

A Mass of Christian Burial for Julie Ann (Cullinan) Smart, age 84, of Heath, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 394 East Main Street, Newark, with Father Jonathan F. Wilson as Celebrant. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Julia was born April 15, 1933 in Newark, Ohio to the late John and Beda (Johnson) Cullinan. She passed away on November 12, 2017 after a short illness. Julia graduated from Saint Francis de Sales High School in 1951. After graduation, she worked at the Heisey Glass Company and later at the Newark Air Force Station. She was also the organist at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament for a number of years. Julia is lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Anne Callaway (Bruce), Jeffrey (Selma), Christine, Cathleen, and E.J. (Jessica). She has four grandchildren, Deniz (Samantha), Kevin, Makayla and Keegn; and one great-granddaughter, Emma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John and James.
