A memorial service for Justin Patrick Brunty, age 32, of Newark, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Justin was born March 26, 1989 in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Justin was employed with Amcor Rigid Packaging in New Albany. He enjoyed music and playing the bass and the guitar. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid video gamer. He loved spending time with his family and playing baseball and chess with his son.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Lyn (Gantt) Brunty, whom he married May 18, 2012; son, Nathan James Brunty; daughter, Lillian Mae Brunty; mother, Kim (Kelly) Hayes of Newark; sister, Alexandra (Frank) Tomacelli of Newark; half brother, Josh Brunty of Paintsville, Kentucky; maternal grandparents, Marilyn & Willis McNabb of Thornville; nephew and nieces, Daylon Dunkle, Kylah Dunkle, and Avah Tomacelli; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Karen Gantt of Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Taylor Gantt of Mount Vernon and Amber Gantt of Columbus; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Donald Barnes; and maternal grandmother, Edna Coleman.
