A funeral service celebrating the life of Kameron A. Mitchell, 65, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Christian Apostolic Church, with Pastors Keith and Janice Sjostrand officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery, where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the church, 22 N. 23rd Street, on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Kameron was born in Mansfield, Ohio on March 17, 1953 to the late Dean M. and Frances (Altman) Mitchell. He passed away on November 26, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio. Kameron proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a technician at Boeing for over 34 years and was a member of Christian Apostolic Church in Newark. He was an avid bicyclist and was a sport enthusiast, following the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Kameron enjoyed writing Christian music and playing his guitar. He especially enjoyed coaching his grandchildren in baseball and spending time with his wife, daughter, grandchildren and friends. He loved everyone he met, never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Cindy Mitchell, whom he married August 1, 1976; daughter and fiancé, Brittani Bree Hill and Dean Gibson; grandchildren, Hayden I. Gibson, Aryauna Mitchell, Kameron Hill, Brock Hill and Tyler Adkins; sister, Kim (Jerry) Majors; nephews, John Hurlow and Jeremy Majors; mother and father-in-law, Jan and James McCreary; close friend, Pastor R. A. Newstrand; and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mahala Mitchell. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Kameron to Christian Apostolic Church Missionary Fund.
