A funeral service celebrating the life of Karen Sue Lewis, 73, of Newark, will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Falls officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Karen was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 25, 1950 to the late Donald G. Stafford and Elizabeth (Dato) Searles. She passed away at her residence on June 1, 2024. Karen was a member of the Newark Baptist Temple, was a Sunday school teacher for many years at various churches and had a deep love for Christ and lived for her Lord. Karen was a devoted homemaker to her family. She enjoyed traveling to all 48 contiguous states, going to watch NASCAR with her husband, Quentin, but most important was the time she spent with her loving family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Karen will be missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Quentin M. Lewis, whom she married October 11, 1968; son, Donald (Cindy) Lewis; daughter, Kimberly (Brett) Ross; sister, Teresa (Tom) Adell; grandchildren; Jacob Michael (Elizabeth) Ross, Kelli Sue Ross, Lindsey Ann (Zach) Jewell, Levi James (Sydney) Ross, Richard Lee (Kaitlyn) Lewis and Melissa Marie (Isaac) Carter; nine great grandchildren; half-brothers, Donald (Christy) Stafford and Ben (Kathy) Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Walker; and stepfather, Donald Searles. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Karen to Hospice of Central Ohio.
