A graveside service celebrating the life of Kathy M. Sandbrink, age 68, of Heath, will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, April 14, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newark with Pastor Cheryl Simpson officiating.
Kathy was born July 28, 1953 in Newark, Ohio to the late Clyde and Carol Irene (Stapleton) Gant. She passed away on April 8, 2022 at Licking Memorial Hospital.
Kathy was a homemaker and a dedicated Army wife, mother, and grandmother, who was the leader of the family. She enjoyed going shopping, going to the casinos, traveling, especially to Graceland because she loved Elvis, motorcycle riding, going to the ocean, her dogs, fishing, and loved watching Bonanza.
She is survived by three children, Paul Allen (Tracy) Sandbrink III, Edward Spencer (Courtney) Sandbrink, and Carol Patricia Baker-Sandbrink; grandchildren, Kyle (Jaimee) Sandbrink, Paul A. (Makalea) Sandbrink IV, Patty (Chris) Whitehouse, Haylee Baker (Joey Ruton), C.J. Baker, and Chloe Sandbrink; great-grandchildren, Amelia Sandbrink, Gabriel Whitehouse, and James Sandbrink; brother, Clyde (Misty) Gant II of Hanover; sisters, Clara Gant and Penny Gant; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Verl Salyer and Connie Lee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Sandbrink II, whom she married January 8, 1972 and who died April 23, 2009; and by a brother, Edward Allen Gant.
