Kay (Riffle) Jones, 85 of Nashport, went to be with the Lord with her family by her side on April 21, 2021. She was born in Wellston, Ohio on October 27, 1935 to the late Elza and Dollie (Staten) Riffle. Kay was an active member of the Melvin Mayfield American Legion Auxiliary Unit 804. She was also a member of the Buckeye Girls State Program for over 30 years, which was one of her favorite things she looked forward to every year. She enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, working the polls on elections day, which she did for several years, and blood mobiles, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by a daughter, Melody (Steve) Cook of Newark; sons, Mark Metz of Nashport and Jim (Brenda) Hoadley of Newark; sister, Rebecca Ann Morrow; and many granddaughters, great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, daughter and son. At Kay’s request, there will not be any services at this time. The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
