Kenneth F. Porter

Kenneth F. Porter, age 86, of Granville, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Licking Memorial Hospital.

Ken was born December 20, 1936 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Robert H. and Leona J. (Stoneburner) Porter. He retired from Rockwell International. He was also an owner/operator truck driver for 12 years and absolutely loved trucking. Ken enjoyed the challenge of fixing things, especially those deemed unrepairable, and was a “Mr. Fix It” for friends and neighbors. A talented musician, Ken played the piano and guitar and really enjoyed music, especially Country. He also liked being outdoors, simple things like mowing the grass, and going to stock car races with his son-in-law and grandson. For 20 years, he and his wife Sandy traveled to Arizona where they would typically stay for six months out of the year, relishing the warmth and socializing with many dear friends. Ken was a wonderful family man who was very much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Lynn “Sandy” (Moreland) Porter, whom he married July 27, 1957; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dave Ogilbee; grandchildren, Charlie Ogilbee (Marie) and Melissa Ogilbee (Brad); great-grandchildren, Taylor Ogilbee, Andrew Ogilbee, and Ryan Ogilbee (Kayla); brother, Robert C. (Audrey) Porter; nephews, Mike Randall (Debbie), Tom Randall (Ann), Steve Porter (Peggy), and Tim Porter (Carmen); niece, Jane Moreland (Ed); and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dave Porter, on February 3, 1985; his step-mother, Goldie (Hall) Porter; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Randall; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Porter.
