Kenneth Bruce Scott, age 76 went to be with the Lord, March 11, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rita. He is also survived by his six children; Kevin (Kathy), Kim, Doug (Michael), Crissy (Troy), Jennifer (Kenny) and Brian (Suzanne) and nine grandchildren; Nicholas, Krista, Evan, Logan, Kelly, Karley, Ian, Gavin and Kyle. Survived also by his siblings; Nancy, Lucille, Mary (Ed) and Clyde (Aline), 26 nieces, nephews and their families. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Scott and brothers John and Willie.

Calling hours Sunday March 17, from noon-4pm, with a memorial service at 4pm, Eastern Star service at 4:30pm and Masonic Service to follow at Criss-Wagner-Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark, OH.

Ken was born and raised in Cleveland, OH where he was a member of Tommy Jones DeMolay Chapter. He served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant and joined Parma Lodge in 1969. He worked at both Western Electric and Suburban Hospital.

In 1989 they moved to the Columbus area where Ken retired from Lucent Technologies after 40 years.

Ken was an active member in the Masonic Fraternities. He was a 50-year Mason and member of New England Lodge #4 where he served as Master in 1995 and 1998. He joined Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland in 1975. He was a member of the Robertson Fellowcraft Team and member of the Royal Order of Scotland. He served as High Priest of Horace W. Wright Chapter in 1997 and 2005. He was a member of Zabud Council, Frank H. Nicolas Council and St. Jerome Conclave of Red Cross of Constantine. He was a board member of Columbus Assembly #172, IORG. He was a six-time Past Patron of Worthington Chapter #287, Order of the Eastern Star and was Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Ohio, OES in 2009. He served as Fourth District DeMolay Governor and received the DeMolay Legion of Honor.

He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family and friends. He always found something to tinker with or a project to work on. He was always willing to lend a hand and truly lived a life of service. He enjoyed vacationing with family over the years and also with his work friends and their families. He has made many friends on his journey and will be greatly missed.

Ken has a youth scholarship that was created in his name several years ago. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the Kenneth B. Scott Masonic Youth Scholarship Fund c/o Crissy Willeke, 4674 Mounts Rd. Alexandria, OH 43001
