Kevin Ray Diss, age 47, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Kevin was born October 3, 1969 in Cambridge, Ohio. He was a 1988 graduate of Cambridge High School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Kevin was employed with J.H. Rose Logistics as a freight broker. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football, especially the Steelers, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Bethany A. (Bachelor) Diss, whom he married December 22, 1997; sons, Kaleb R. Diss and Kameron R. Diss, both of Newark; mother and step-father, Maxine and Lyle Shaw of Byesville; father and step-mother, Kenneth R. and Martha Diss of Cambridge; sisters, Kimberly Diss and Kelly Mallett, both of Byesville and Karla Diss (Doug Kirk) of Antrim; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Kevins life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, at Mr. Lees Restaurant, 2000 E. Wheeling Avenue in Cambridge.
