A funeral service celebrating the life of Krista Jo Molina, age 46, of Columbus, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Foley officiating. Burial will take place in Barnes Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.Krista was born April 24, 1970 in Newark, Ohio. She passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Essex of Springfield.Krista attended Newark High School and Columbus State Community College where she was studying to be a nurse. Krista loved animals.She is survived by her husband, Rony Molina of Columbus; son, Enrique Molina of the home; mother and step-father, Linda J. (Korns) and Alin Henry of Newark; father and step-mother, Edwin C. and Donna Brooks of Newark; sisters and brother, Staci (Brooks) Loudner of Newark, Stefanie (Brooks) Coffee of Newark, Kevin Brooks of Florida and Wendi (Brooks) Jones of Columbus; step-brothers, Steve, Joe and Mike; many nieces, nephews and friends.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Norman and Mary Brooks and Bill and Una Korns; an aunt, Lori House; a nephew, Trey Ayres; a brother, Chad Priest; and her beloved dog, Chito.Special thanks to the many family and friends as well as Essex of Springfield Nursing Home who took care of Krista and stood by her during her six year battle with ALS.Memorial contributions to remember Krista may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Krista and her family.
