Larry was born January 30, 1941 in Newark, Ohio to the late Russell Eugene and Sarah K. (Miller) Cramer. The Lord called Larry home on June 30, 2021.
Larry attended Roosevelt Junior High, then matriculated and graduated from Newark Senior High in 1960. He served three years in the United States Air Force. Larry worked for many years for Owens Corning Fiberglas. After attaining his Associate degree in Electronics from Devry University, he went to work at the Newark Air Force Base. On its closure, he transferred to Anniston Army Depot in Alabama and stayed until his retirement in 2005.
Larry was known for his keen sense of humor and teasing manner that was always accompanied by a mischievous grin. But his clear blue eyes left no doubt to his loving nature. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and football fan, particularly the Buckeyes. He was a dedicated and dutiful member of Community Wesleyan Church. Serving as a lay minister, he initiated the Bus Ministry and reliably ran the sound booth.
In addition to his Faith, Larry was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Darlene (Burchard) Cramer, and together they raised seven children: Penny (Mike) Simon of Toboso, Scott (Randa) Cramer of Newark, Wayne (Mandy) Cramer of Granville, Cindy Haas of Newark, Jenny (Larry) Loughman, Jr. of Heath, Sarah Cramer of Heath, and Larry “Rusty” (Paige) Cramer of Anniston, Alabama. They were blessed with 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Sandra Wheeler of Naples, Florida and Tamèra Cramer of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Simon; and great-granddaughter, Lylah Marie Cunningham.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Wesleyan Church, 161 Myrtle Avenue, Newark, OH 43055 or to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058
