A funeral service celebrating the life of Larry L. Crawford, age 77, of Columbus, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at New Beginnings Baptist Church, 4888 Refugee Road NW, Baltimore, with Pastor R. Murdock officiating. Burial will take place in Franklin Hills Memory Garden, Canal Winchester, where military honors will be observed.Larry was born May 17, 1937 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Carl William and Beatrice M. (Slocum) Crawford. He passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Larry was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired in 1997 from the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority where he had worked as a carpenter and had worked part-time with Ameriguard Investigators and Security in Columbus as a security guard. He was a member of the New Beginnings Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #798 of Reynoldsburg.He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Snowden) Crawford; sons, Brian C. Crawford of Alachua, Florida and Jon Spencer of Pataskala; daughters, Coral Benny of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Sherry McInerney of Glen Allen, Virginia; step-sons, Keith E. Shaw and Kevin M. Shaw, both of Columbus; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry B. Crawford of Sturgis, Michigan, Lynn W. Crawford of Tucson, Arizona and L.C.
