Larry G. Phelps, Sr.

Larry G. Phelps, Sr., age 71, of Newark, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

Larry was born December 29, 1946 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Joseph S. and Oneita Mildred (Baker) Phelps. A veteran of the United States Army, Larry served from 1964-67 during the Vietnam War. Larry retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in 2006. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles and riding.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay (Maynard) Phelps, whom he married October 6, 2012; son, Larry Phelps, Jr.; daughters, Kelly Phelps and Jamie Phelps; step-daughter, Bobbie Bentley; step-son, Jeff Myers; grandchildren, Trey Phelps, Morgan and Madison Bentley, Cayden Sharp, Kolton, Leland and Garrett Myers, as well as several other grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Phelps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Phelps; a daughter, Shelly Phelps; and a brother, Ronnie Phelps.

At Larry’s request, there will be no visitation or service observed.
