Larry J. Ruple

A memorial service celebrating the life of Larry J. Ruple, 75 of Newark, will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Pastor Nick Shaw officiating. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn inside the funeral home and for your protection, a maximum of 35 guests will be allowed inside at one time. Please practice social distancing. Larry was born in Newark, Ohio on February 25, 1945 to the late Charles and Catherine (McConnell) Ruple. He passed away at Grant Hospital on December 17, 2020. Prior to retirement, Larry was a sales manager for various car lots over the years. Larry’s father owned five car lots in Newark. In 1959, when Larry was 14 years old, his dad owned Wow Car Company on East Main Street in Newark. Larry grew up around cars and in 1984, he became the general sales manager at Darner’s Car Lot in Mesa, AZ. Larry loved all forms of sweets (especially chocolate) and country music. He also loved golfing, and that was one of many reasons he loved living in Arizona, so he could golf year-round. He was loved tremendously and will be missed dearly. Larry married Tessa M. Kendall and they had three children together, Brenda, Joe and Doug. When their marriage ended, Larry met and married Lydia E. Clouse and with this marriage, he welcomed a step-daughter, Kelli and step-son, Carl. Larry had two step-grandchildren, Michael and Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles, Dora, Cathy and Nancy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Larry, to the family to help with funeral expenses.
