Larry Smith

A funeral service celebrating the life of Larry Smith, age 68, of Glenford, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street, with Pastor Jeremy Shank officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, Glenford.Larry was born November 24, 1946 in New Albany, Ohio to the late Dalton Emerson and Georgia Alice (Strait) Smith. He passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.Larry was a finish carpenter by trade. He was primarily self-employed but had also worked with Grosse and Son and Columbus Contractors. Larry enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking and wood crafts as well as racing and restoring hot rods.He is survived by three daughters, Tammy Smith of Pataskala, Sandra Jackson (fianc Lance Shriner) of New Lexington and Laura Smith of Pataskala; three grandchildren, Christian Michael Rader, William Joseph Noice and Kamryn Kendall Shriner; twin brother, Jerry (Zella) Smith of Pataskala; special friend of 21 years, Tresa Cochran of Glenford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Eugene Smith.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for the Smith family.
