Larry Jay Swaney

A graveside funeral service, celebrating the life of Larry Jay Swaney, 68, of Millersport, will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Millersport Cemetery with Alex Wilhelmsen officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Thornville chapel of Hoskinson Funeral Home, 56 S. Main Street, Thornville. Larry was born in Front Royal, Virginia on November 22, 1955 to the late James D. and Lois (Hyle) Swaney. He passed away at his residence, while surrounded by family, on September 29, 2024. Prior to retirement, Larry was a department manager with G-Cor Automotive Corporation for over 40 years, where he was a dedicated employee, and was respected by all. He was a member of the Newark Moose Lodge. He enjoyed playing basketball, was a loyal Cleveland sports fan and was also an avid OSU sports fan. Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Deloras Meyer, Gary Swaney, Tammy Newness and Michael Swaney; sister-in-law, Tina Swaney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
