Lavonna May Yost

Funeral Services, celebrating the life of Lavonna May Yost, 86, formerly of Thurston, will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main St in Thornville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 2-4 pm. Due to COVID 19, please wear masks at all times in the funeral home and practice social distancing. Lavonna passed away late Wednesday evening, April 21, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Lancaster. She was born November 19, 1934, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late George W and Permila Mary (Kleinoffer) Evans. Lavonna operated her own group home for several years. She enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, lottery tickets, honey combs and cooking for family and friends. She is survived by her children: son Gary (Deanna) Yost, daughters Debbie (Chester) Reid and Joyce Burnett; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren including her special great grandson Aiden Caplinger; and 2 great great grandchildren; her brothers Nelson (Etta) Evans, Jerry (Martha) Evans; Lewis (Wanda) Evans; and her best friend Millie Games. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Russell Yost; and two sons, Paul David and Ricky Lee Yost.
