A Homegoing Service, celebrating the life of Learoy McIntyre, 75, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service, with Pastor Jerome Weaver officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, two hours prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Learoy was born in Dallas County, Alabama on March 4, 1946 to the late Albert and Dora Lee (Crumpton) McIntyre. He passed away at his residence on December 16, 2021. Learoy was raised in Minten, Alabama, graduating from Emmanuel Brown Training School in Minten, Alabama. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Ford Motor Company for nearly 20 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Connersville, Indiana, where he served as a trustee and minister of music. He enjoyed golfing, where he was a former member of Liberty Country Club in Liberty, Indiana. He also enjoyed computers, but most important was the time he spent with his loving family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Danielle D. (Hill) McIntyre, whom he married March 21, 1999; daughters, Marsha (Jeffery) Nelson, Stephine Stallworth, Erica McIntyre and Lorraine McIntyre; Goddaughter, Buffie Marie (John) Miller; grandchildren, Devin Nelson, Jenkins Nelson, Andrious Stallworth, Isaiah Stallworth, Aryana Stallworth, Taniya Johnson, Myah Johnson, Daylen McIntyre, Dayvian McIntyre, DayMaya McIntyre, Dayvon Davis, Savon Byrd, Sophyah Diack and Xavier McIntyre; great grandson, Roman Isaiah Stallworth; brother, Samuel (Evelyn) McIntyre, Sr., who was his best friend; sisters-in-law, Leola McIntyre, Drucilla McIntyre and Faye McIntyre; brother-in-law, James Robinson, Sr.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and another best friend, Paul Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one child; brothers, Theodore Davis, Albert McIntyre, Charles McIntyre, Ernest McIntyre and Willie Knox; sisters, Alvenia McIntyre, Margaret Robinson and Hattie Lee Bogan. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Learoy to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for all of the love and care that was provided to Learoy.
