Leonard Richard "Lenny" Stier

June 12, 1944 — February 20, 2020

A funeral service celebrating the life of Leonard Richard “Lenny” Stier, age 75, of Grove City, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, at the Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Ed Engelbrecht and Pastor Floyd Stolzenburg officiating. Burial will take place in Kirkerville Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 285 East Main Street in Kirkersville.

Leonard was born June 12, 1944 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota to the late Gilbert Fred and Helen Margaret (Pausch) Stier. He passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Mount Carmel in Grove City and went home to be with the Lord.

Lenny, as he was fondly known by family and friends, was a veteran of the United States Air Force and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam era. He retired from Battelle in Columbus where he had been employed in networking and telecommunications. Lenny was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbus where he enjoyed participating on the dartball team. He was also a member of the American Legion and was a H.O.G. member (Harley Owners Group).

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine N. (Haddad) Stier; daughter, Tanya P. (Tim) Brown of South Charleston, Ohio; step-son, Matthew S. Snyder of Sherman Oaks, California; grandsons, Logan and Travis Brown, who were his pride and joy; step-granddaughter, Shellie Brown and step-great-granddaughter, Breanna; sisters, Doris (Todd) Schweigert of Sacramento, California, Janice (Jerry) Weiers of New Prague, Minnesota, and Cynthia Woodward of Cutbank, Montana; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Sullivan; and two brothers, Dwaine Stier and Kenneth “Kenny” Stier.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 80 East Markison Avenue, Columbus, OH 43207.
