Leroy H. Haugen

LeRoy H. Haugen, 77, of Dawson, MN, passed away Thursday, 6/30/2022, at his home residence in Ohio. Born July 27, 1944, in Dawson, MN, he was the son of Louis and Lucille (Kvaal) Haugen. He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Johnson) Haugen, who he married July 3, 1969; his children Tim Haugen (wife, Sheila) of GA, and Terry Haugen (wife, Sarah) of OH; two children who lived with them long term: Shaun Lemmerhirt and Judd Gonzalez-Whelan of OH; 6 grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Cook of CA, and a brother, John Haugen of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one child who died as an infant, Tracy Jo Haugen. LeRoy had lived in Ohio since 2005, but had lived in Dawson, MN most of his life and graduated from Dawson HS in 1962. He had been employed at AGP in Dawson for 34 years, served in the Army National Guard for 24 years, and was a Foster Care provider for 31 years. He was an active member at the Lutheran church for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion, an active adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and helped with Special Olympics for many years. LeRoy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be at 6pm on Wednesday, July 6th at Hoskinson Funeral Home in Kirkersville, OH with Pastor Bret Rizzo officiating. The visitation will be from 5-6 pm. The burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Dawson, MN, on Friday July 8th at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating.
