Leslie "Les" W. Walters

A Funeral Mass, to celebrate the life of Leslie Les W. Walters, age 82, of Thornville, will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Buckeye Lake, with Father William A. Hritsko officiating. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.Les was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on May 26, 1933 to the late David and Elizabeth (Price) Walters. He passed away on December 17, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.Les proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he was a commercial painter with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 1275, where he served as past president and business agent. He was the former project manager for Ohio State Building Trades. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Millersport American Legion Post #637.Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Helen M. (Keeton) Walters, whom he married June 26, 1954; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and William Safreed; brother, David Walters; nieces, Susan (Spencer) Smith, Coral Ann (Tom) Fryer, Heather Walters, Deborah (George) Obourn, Rosemary (Bob) Kalkman, Anna (Michael) Culliford and Vickie (Rod) Price; nephews, Allen (Debbie) Williams, Jr., Kenny (Lisa) Williams, Gary (Judy) Williams and Brian (Kathy) Walters, Jr.; and his beloved dogs, Coco and Maggie.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Rick Walters; sister, Lorraine Williams; and brother Brian Walters.The family will receive friends at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Les and his family.
