Lewis D. "Lew" Henry

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lewis D. “Lew” Henry, 81, of Heath, will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heath Church of Christ with Dave Mason as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens with Military Honors observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance. Visitation will be held at the Heath Church of Christ, 1331 Chapel Way, Heath, on Friday, three hours prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lewis proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. Prior to retirement, he was a regulator with Columbia Gas for nearly 30 years. He was a 1962 graduate of Lakewood High School and a member of Heath Church of Christ. Lewis was an avid baseball and softball player and enjoyed going to his children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Victoria L. “Vicky” Henry, whom he married July 31, 1965; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Shaun Phipps; sister, Joyce Dunlap; sisters-in-law, Carol Henry, Judy (Bud) Porterfield and Debby Gorsuch; grandchildren, Lindsay (Todd) Wingate, Brittany Henry, Tyler (Anna) Phipps and Major (Clare) Henry; great grandchildren, Mya Phipps and Wyatt Williams; daughter in law, Michele (the late Lewis Scott Henry) DeGraeve and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lewis Scott “Bam” Henry; brother, Jim Henry; infant brother, Larry Henry; sister, Shirley Henry; and brothers-in-law, Wendall Dunlap and John Gorsuch. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lewis to Hospice of Central Ohio. Envelopes will be available at the church. Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Lewis and the Henry family.
