Linda Kay Cleland, 75 of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 following an extended illness. She was born March 17, 1948 in Beaver, (Raleigh County) West Virginia, the daughter of the late Clarence Willard and Nellie Edith (Bradshaw) Hatfield.
Linda was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandbabies. She was a good cook, enjoyed sewing and doing ceramics.
She is survived by her loving family: her husband Jeff, whom she married on August 6, 1990; her children Kevin Hatfield, Clair (Dorothy) Swan, Penny (Dave) Dunkle; her step-son David (Idra) Cleland; her ten grandchildren; her brother Richard (Karen) Hatfield; her sister Connie Dodson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and several friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers Charles and Paul and her sister Shirley.
Linda loved flowers, but the family prefers that any memorial contributions be directed to a charity of your choice in her honor.
Honoring Linda’s wishes, the family will hold a celebration of life service at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 324 Gay Street, Lancaster on Sunday, April 30, 2023, starting at 12:00 noon. It will be held in The James C. Aranda Family Opportunity Center. Please RSVP to Barbara Shonebarger at 740-653-5809 as there will be refreshments.
