Linda Lou Eveland

A graveside service celebrating the life of Linda Lou Eveland, age 74, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, at New Lexington Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 25, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street in Newark.

Linda was born February 2, 1949 in Athens County, Ohio to the late Lloyd and Mary Lou (Waugh) Craig. She passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was a Deputy Sheriff with the Licking County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years and retired in 2012. She loved Elvis and watching NASCAR and Dirt Track racing. Her family meant the world to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roger D. Eveland; son and daughter-in-law, Roger “Fat Boy” and Amy Eveland of Newark; grandchildren, Ryan Eveland (Kaylee) of Dresden and Autum (James) Rowe of Killbuck; great-grandchildren, Ellie Eveland and Bo Brian Eveland; brothers, Tim Craig of Columbus, Jim (Debbie) Craig of Deavertown, and Ted Craig of Columbus; sister, Laura Mae (Richard) Skinner of New Lexington; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian James Eveland, on June 23, 2020; and by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Chuck Craig, Richard & Myrtle Craig, and Cathy Craig.
