Linda Marlene Hinton

A memorial service celebrating the life of Linda Marlene Hinton, age 69, of Newark, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Linda was born June 14, 1947 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Frank and Stella Teddy (Myers) Walker. She passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Arlington Care Center.Linda enjoyed reading, watching movies and spending time with her family. She loved cookie night at Christmas and the family Christmas Eve gathering each year. Linda was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Johnnie J.R. Hinton, whom she married March 18, 1987; six children, John D. Cordle, Michael A. Cordle, Faith Ann (Rick) Lehman, all of Newark, Rodney Lee Cordle of Utica, Jennifer Lyn (David) Barton and Michael D. (Pamela J.) Cordle, all of Newark; step-son, Randy Butler of Newark; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Frankie Boy (Wanda) Walker of Newark; sisters, Patricia Luckeydoo of Newark, Sharon (Lacy) Loudermilk of Heath, Karen Spurgeon of Dresden and Merrillee (Thomas) Bolton of St. Louisville; sisters-in-law, Vicky James and Kelly Hinton, both of Newark; brothers-in-law, John L. (Wilma Jean) Hinton of Columbus and Willie Nell Randolph of Georgia; many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard James and Clint Walker; and brothers-in-law, Louis Tootie Hinton, Coleman Luckeydoo and Bob Spurgeon.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for Linda and her family.
