Lisa Kaye Chafins

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lisa Kaye Chafins, age 53, of Thornville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, at the Thornville home of Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Gary Reiss officiating. Burial will take place in Zion Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, February 12, and from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home, 56 South Main Street in Thornville. Lisa was born November 12, 1964 in Lancaster, Ohio. She passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. Lisa was a 1983 graduate of Sheridan High School and received an Associates Degree from Stratford College. She was currently employed with Fairfield Medical Center where she was an Associate Secretary on 6 South for 16 years. She had also been formerly employed by Doctors North Hospital for 16 years. Lisa was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She enjoyed bingo, playing the slots and hunting. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, William Mitchell Bill Chafins, whom she married September 15, 1984; son, Kevin (Holly) Chafins of Thornville; grandchildren, Emma Marie Chafins and Hunter Mitchell Chafins; mother, Sharon Eileen (Winegardner) McCafferty Chesser; father, Melvin Lee Pete McCafferty (Judy Wallace); sisters, Lori (Larry) Mulkey of London, Amie (Mike) Bichard of Cambridge, Maria Adkins of Pataskala and Mandy Mcalpine of Hebron; brother, Brian (Ashley) McCafferty of Newark; many nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Richard Junior Chafins of Pataskala; brothers-in-law, Richard D. Chafins of Pataskala and Donald J. (Donna) Chafins of Bellville; aunt, Joan Jo-Jo Gothard of Thornville; several cousins; and her 2nd son, Nate Drumm of Thornville. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Millard M. Chesser; and mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Chafins. Hoskinson Funeral & Cremation Service is honored to care for Lisa and her family.
