A funeral service celebrating the life of Lois Gwendelyn Van Dyke, age 82, of Hebron, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Harkness officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark.Lois was born February 25, 1933 in Romulus, New York to the late Cornelius and Carolyn (Updyke) Baker. She passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Grant Medical Center.Lois had worked in housekeeping at Licking Memorial Hospital and retired from the former Newark Healthcare Centre. She loved to do plastic canvas needlework, play cards with her grandsons and listen to Country music. She was an excellent baker and cook and was most known for her Boiled Raisin Cake and her applesauce.She is survived by five children, Janet (Charles) Robberts of Heath, Kathleen Mayo of Odessa, NY, Theodore Mayo and Gregory Mayo, both of Trumansburg, NY and Ricky (Marnie) Ike of North Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, Dakota and Clayton Robberts, Jared and Wade Mayo, Nathan and Matthew Mayo, Madison Ike and Gregory, Steven and Garrett Mayo; several great-grandchild; sister, Margaret McCann of Waterloo, NY; and nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brice Gerald Van Dyke in 1979; a daughter; four sisters, Jean McCann, Patricia Henninger, Beverly Excell and Genevieve Alger; and a brother, Paul Baker.Because of her love of watching her grandsons, Dakota and Clay, in the Lancers Marching Band, memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood Band Boosters, P.O.
