Lois Miriam Swaney

Funeral services celebrating the life of Lois Miriam Swaney, 94, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Ohio, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Thornville. Friends may call at the Thornville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 56 South Main Street in Thornville, immediately preceding the services from 12:00 Noon until funeral time. Lois passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home in Florida. She was born April 24, 1926, in Holidaysburg, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank and Laura (Bare) Hyle. She enjoyed fishing, Cleveland Indians, Dallas Cowboys, watching Nascar events, horse racing and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived by her family: children Deloras Meyer, Wayne, Gary, Larry, Michael Swaney, Tammy Newness; her sister Ruth Griffin, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Swaney, Februay 19, 1994, eleven siblings: Edna May Hyle, David Hyle, Ralph Hyle, Stuart Hyle, Marjorie Shinafelt, Grace Helsley, Jean Maughmire, William, James, Robert and Walter Hyle.
