Lois Ruth Zeman, age 96, of Heath, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). Lois was born September 12, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio.
Lois retired from the Newark Air Force Station. She and her husband Otto enjoyed traveling and lived in England for several years for Otto’s job before settling back in Heath. Lois had an artistic soul and was an amateur artist and self-taught carpenter. Her creative talents extended to her many hobbies, including needlepoint, sewing, and gardening. She found immense joy in simple pleasures: savoring snacks, solving word searches, and piecing together jigsaw puzzles with her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing her large family and enriching the lives of those around her. She will be remembered fondly for her fiery spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Rae (Dean I) Slone; son, William Frederick (Darlene) McDonald; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Debbie Miller, as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Leroy Burns, Sr., mother, Helen Lucine Beatrice (Collins) Fankhouse; children, Patricia Jo Hommon, Robert Charles McDonald, Pearl Elaine Myers, and Dwight Lee Saunders, Jr.
A private burial will take place in Hebron Cemetery where Lois will be laid to rest with her husband, Otto.
