Lon J. Stradley

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Lon J. Stradley, age 42, of Newark, will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Katrick officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Wednesday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.Lon was born in Newark, Ohio on June 29, 1973 to Rodney L. and Judy K. (Gleckler) Stradley. He passed away at his residence on March 1, 2016, with his brother, Tyler by his side.Lon was one of the best auto refinishers and had achieved the platinum award at the PPG Training Center. He was also ASE certified in refinishing and auto body repair. He started at Ervin Auto Body in 1989 and worked there until 2014. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, the Broken Arrow Archery Club and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He loved hunting, target shooting and fishing with family and friends. He was a very good golfer and a great archer, and received numerous trophies and awards from competitions. He never had a bad word for anybody and was willing to help anyone that was truly in need.In addition to his parents, survivors include one brother, Tyler (Ashley) Stradley; paternal grandmother, Wilma Stradley; niece, Maddy Stradley; Nephew, Nate Stradley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lon to the Licking County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Orie Gleckler; and paternal grandfather, Ronald Stradley.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for Lon and his family.
