Lonnie Clifford Maynard, 71, passed away March 27,2024 in Pataskala, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 4-6pm at Hoskinson Funeral Home, 285 E. Main St, Kirkersville, Ohio. It was Lonnie’s wish that we do not mourn in sadness, but reminisce with laughter and smiles. Psalms 147:3 – “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” He was born April 21,1952 in West Virginia. Lonnie graduated from Watkins Memorial High School class of 1970. He worked as a mechanic after high school and many other jobs. Lonnie was a proud employee of Southwest Licking Local Water and Sewer Department until he retired in 2016. He continued to work for the company for many years through retirement. Lonnie’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family and animals at his beloved farm in Cambridge, Ohio. He and his wife spent many years building their home with their own hands. Lonnie had many hobbies: working on cars, tinkering with his famous “blue tractor”, and getting his hands on anything he could. Lonnie was married to Sherri L. Maynard on June 29, 1991. Sherri’s and Lonnie’s love was fun, perfectly flawed, and unconditional. Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Sherri Maynard; his mother, Myrtle Estep; his stepfather, William “Bubby” Estep; brothers, Freddie, Keith, and Eugene; sister, Donna; and stepsons James Whitson and Shon Lowery. He is survived by grandsons, Lukas and Beau Whitson; stepson, Keith (Cindy) Lowery; stepdaughter, Jamie (Christopher) Blackburn; brothers, Johnny (Maryann) Estep, Charles Maynard, and Ricky Estep; sister, Alberta Gail Estep; family friend, Monte (JoAn) Matteson; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lonnie was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, son, and friend. He will be missed dearly. He has been a rock to many, a master at sarcastic humor and wit. No matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he’d be there if you needed him. We invite you all to share pictures and memories. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Lonnie C. Maynard may be sent to Caretenders Hospice, 2550 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 101, Columbus, Ohio 43231. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Kirkersville Chapel of Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Maynard family.
