Lorrinda K. "Lori" Mears

A memorial service celebrating the life of Lorrinda K. Lori Mears, age 53, of Newark, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the Second Church of Christ, 19 South Williams Street, Newark, with Pastor Eric Miller officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Cedar Hill Cemetery.Lori was born December 18, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio. She passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at her home. Lori was a 1980 graduate of Newark High School and attended Harrison College Online. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Larrys Drugs and CVS. Lori enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, looking at magazines and taking care of her dog, Freckles.She is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Mark A. Mears, whom she married June 7, 1986; her father and step-mother, Richard J. and Lisa Ball of Newark; brothers, Arlin Hill, Jimmy (Norma) Ball and David Ball, all of Newark; sister, Trudy (Dan) Reeves of Warsaw; step-sister, Elizabeth King of Newark; brothers-in-law, Jerry Mears and Bobby Mears, both of Newark, and Joe Mears of Florida; many nieces and nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew.Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy K. (Neighbor) Ball; seven siblings, David Mears, Jim Mears, Pat Parker, John Mears, Barb Foreman, Mary Rine and Donna Mears; and sister-in-law, Linda Hill.Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home is honored to care for the Mears family.
