Louis Bowers

Louis T. Bowers, 82, of Rushville, passed away on Tuesday, June 03, 2014 at Carriage Court Assisted Living in Lancaster. He was born on September 16, 1931 in Wetzel County, WV., son of the late Lawrence Townsend and Orpha (Holman) Bowers. Louis was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from B&O Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.He is survived by his loving family: son, Vaughn (Brenda) Bowers; daughter, Connie (Frank) Swaney; five grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Adams and Mary Barker; as well as nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Bowers; grandaughter, Jamie Kelley; and brother, Willard.The family will receive friends at the Kirkersville home of HOSKINSON Funeral and Cremation Service, 285 E. Main St. in Kirkersville, on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. where a funeral service celebrating Louis life will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Kirkersville Cemetery.
