A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lucille C. Hoover, age 98, of Perry Township, will be held on Friday, October, 24, 2014 at 2:30 pm at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Mulpas officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.Mrs. Hoover was born on June 16, 1916 in Morrow County to the late Ray and Bertha (DeHaven) Orsborn. She went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.She was a member of the Perryton Church of Christ. Lucille was a gentle, kind and lovely lady from the inside out. She dedicated her life to her family and community and retired from Canal Winchester Schools in 1968. For guests, she always had something warm and wonderful to eat and always made time to visit, take a walk or play a game. In her later years, she enjoyed the many social activities at SharonBrooke.Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Becky Hoover of Frazeysburg and Robert and Kathy Hoover of Nashport; two daughters, Roberta Durant of Chicago and Jan Dunbar of Marion; six grandchildren, Charlene Pace of Cardington, David (Karen) Hoover, Daniel (Jess) Hoover of Frazeysburg, Tracy Rodgers of Newark, Richard Rodgers of Wadsworth and Denise Ryan of Wadsworth; six great grandchildren, Jordan Rodgers, Nathan Rodgers and Reece Allen, all of Newark, Jimmy Hoover, Emily Hoover, Austin Hoover, Siarra Hoover all of Frazeysburg and Cameron Pace of Cardington; plus special nieces, nephews and other family members.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1991 by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth B. Hoover; sister, Kathryn Kline; and daughter-in-law, Merridy Hoover.Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Hoover to Hospice of Central Ohio or the Perryton Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Friends may call at the funeral home, 179 Granville Street, Newark on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral and Cremation Service is honored to care for the Hoover family.
