Lucy Ann Muncy

Lucy Ann Muncy, 85, of Pataskala, died Sunday, February 5, 2023, at her son’s home. She was born October 5, 1937, in Lancaster to the late Russell and Carolyn (Cordle) Hollingshead. Lucyann worked for Anchor Hocking and as a waitress at various places including Rays Restaurant in Pataskala. In her younger days, she was known to drag race down Memorial Drive in Lancaster in her car that she bought by saving her lunch money. She was once nominated for Proclamation of Licking County. She was a member of several senior clubs including Lima Seniors, Summitt Seniors, Friendly Buckeyes, and Buckeye Lake Seniors. She enjoyed collecting angels, working in her yard, tending to her flower garden, square dancing with her husband, taking multiple trips, and going out to eat. She is survived by her children, Christina “Christy” Searles and Sherman Russell (Angie) Muncy; grandchildren, Dustin Varney, Christopher Varney, Taylor Searles, Brianna Muncy, Nicole Breech, Eric Williams, and David Williams; great grandchildren, Colton Varney, Hope Varney, Connor Varney, and Josephine Klinger; brother, Gail Hollingshead; sister, Carolyn Cave; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Muncy; and son-in-law, Roy “Gene” Searles. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 1-2pm at the HOSKINSON Funeral Home, Kirkersville, 285 E. Main St. Kirkersville, where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
